nurecover Review: Read the Returns Policy First

What nurecover actually sells

The main product is the Plunge, a collapsible insulated tub bundled with a small chiller. There is also a smaller Pod tub and a sauna line. Everything sells through nurecover’s own Shopify store. There is no Amazon listing and no retail stockist, so the brand’s own pages are the only source of specifications.

That is worth stating plainly because it changes how much checking a buyer has to do themselves. Nobody else has vetted these numbers before you see them.

The capacity claim is honest, and that is rare

We run every gallon figure against the product’s own published dimensions, because most of this category fails that test.

The Plunge is listed at 151 by 69 by 54 cm, which nurecover converts to 59.4 by 27.2 by 21.3 inches. Treated as an oval, that shell holds roughly 118 gallons filled to the very brim, or about 445 litres. The claim is 345 litres.

So the stated capacity is well under true brim volume. That is what an honest fill figure looks like, and nurecover deserves credit for it. We have found tubs in this market advertising more gallons than their shells physically hold.

The same holds for the Pod. An 80 cm round tub 80 cm tall works out near 405 litres at the brim against a 400 litre claim.

The height claim does not survive the same test

The brand’s comparison page states the Plunge gives “full-body immersion for users up to 7 feet tall and 280 lbs”.

Seven feet is 84 inches. The published internal length is 59.4 inches. The two numbers cannot both be true. This is a seated, knees-raised plunge, which is fine and normal, but it is not what that sentence describes. Our tub size guide covers what internal length you actually need.

The product page also says the 345 litre tub “fits up to 2 people”. At 27 inches wide, two adults side by side is not realistic.

0.3 HP is the number to sit with

The chiller is rated at 0.3 HP. nurecover’s own published pull-down is 21 °C to 5 °C in roughly 12 to 24 hours.

Take that figure seriously, because it tells you how the thing behaves. This is a maintenance chiller. It holds a cold tub cold. It does not cool a warm tub quickly. If you fill from a garden hose in summer, your first plunge is the next day.

Two gaps matter here. nurecover publishes no wattage and no amp draw, so the running cost cannot be checked. The comparison page asserts about fifty cents a day. That is a brand claim with no spec behind it, and our running cost breakdown explains what actually drives the bill.

The chiller’s own product page is stranger. Under a heading reading “Our Impressive Specs” it lists tub diameters, tub capacities and insulation layers. It publishes no chiller specifications at all.

The reviews split in two

This is the part that should decide your purchase.

Trustpilot, checked 30 July 2026, showed 5,295 reviews with a TrustScore of 2.4 out of 5. The star breakdown was 2,666 five-star, 553 four-star, 191 three-star, 194 two-star and 1,691 one-star.

Read that shape rather than the average. Just over half of reviewers gave the top score. Almost a third gave the bottom one. Fewer than eight percent landed on two or three stars.

That is not a mediocre product. That is two completely different experiences. Buyers either get their box and like it, or they spend weeks chasing someone by email. Very few have a middling time.

The straight arithmetic mean of that breakdown is about 3.4, not 2.4. The gap exists because Trustpilot weights recent reviews more heavily, so the score sitting a full point below the lifetime average suggests recent experiences are worse than the historical ones. 981 of those reviews came in the last 12 months.

What the BBB file says

The Better Business Bureau lists nurecover at an address in Los Angeles, not accredited, with a file opened in January 2024.

The grade is F. BBB gives two stated reasons: “Advertising issues found by BBB” and “Failure to respond to 210 complaint(s) filed against business”. The file shows 212 complaints across three years and 119 closed in the last 12 months. Separately, 84 BBB customer reviews average 1.08 out of 5.

Those are BBB’s published findings, not ours. What buyers report in them is consistent: refunds promised then delayed repeatedly, orders shipping after cancellation was requested, wrong or damaged items arriving, and support taking about a week to answer when it answers.

The returns policy is the thing to read first

nurecover advertises free shipping in 3 to 5 days to the US, a 90-day money-back guarantee and free returns.

The refund policy page says something different. It opens with a 100-day return window, not 90 days. It requires returned items to be “unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging”. And it states: “Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.”

Every product on the store carries a struck-through price under a permanent sale banner.

We are not going to tell you what nurecover does with that clause in practice, because we do not know. We are telling you it is there, in the brand’s own published terms, sitting directly against the money-back guarantee printed beside the buy button. A guarantee that requires the product unused is also not a trial.

The guarantee itself is stated four ways across four pages: 90 days on the Plunge buy box, 100 days in the refund policy, 1 year on the chiller page, and a lifetime warranty sold as a paid cart add-on. The warranty is 2 years in one place on the Plunge page and 1 year in another place on the same page.

The reviews on nurecover’s own site

Worth knowing where the glowing comparison you may have read came from.

The page ranking the nurecover Plunge first against five competitors is hosted on nurecover’s own domain. It runs under a masthead reading “The Cold Therapy Review, independent reviews of cold therapy equipment”, carries a named editor byline and a reading time, and says “we tested five cold plunge systems”. It awards nurecover 4.8 out of 5 and an Editor’s Pick badge. A companion sauna page has “editorial-ls-pc-v1” in its URL.

That is the brand’s own marketing, and it should be read that way. It also quotes a higher price for the same bundle than the product page does, and understates the brand’s own guarantee, which suggests the pages are not maintained against each other.

Who should buy something else

If you want a tub and chiller together with a real horsepower figure, a 248 gallon tub with a 1 HP chiller sits in the same price band with roughly triple the cooling and far more volume.

If you already have a tub, buy a 1 HP chiller with ozone and filtration on its own. You get published specs, a returns path through a retailer, and better cooling.

If you want the cheapest honest route, a chiller-ready insulated tub plus ice costs a fraction of this, and you can add a chiller later.

Our verdict

The tub is probably fine. The capacity numbers are honest, the spec sheet is more complete than most direct brands bother with, and half of five thousand reviewers are happy.

The risk is everything around it. A third of those reviewers are not just unhappy but one-star unhappy, the BBB grade is F on stated grounds of unanswered complaints, and the published returns terms contain an exclusion that reads as though it swallows the guarantee the brand advertises most loudly.
